Unemployment Blues

Well I’m standing at the crossroads, of my life once again.
Yes I’m standing at the cross roads of my life once again.
When you aint’t got no job or money, it’s hard to find a friend.

When I wake up every morning, have to drag myself out of bed.
I wake up every single morning, have to drag myself out of bed.
When you got no way to earn a living, you might as well be dead.

I gave ‘em everything I had, gave ‘em my best years, that’s a fact
I gave ‘em everything I had, gave ‘em my best years, that’s a fact
In return I just got burned, they put a knife right in my back.

[Bridge] I went to get a loan,
To try and save my home;
I said “Mr. banker man,
Could you lend me a hand?”
He said “I’m sorry son,
“that your life is in tatters;
“but money talks, bullshit walks,
And you just got the latter.”

Well, life gets awfully lonely, when you got the blues.
When you ain’t got no job or money,
No one wants to hear your views.
