What It’s All About

You come home from work, you’re so tired and worn;
You practically collapse right in your baby’s arms.
You’re muscles all ache, your brain cells are fried;
But just when you think you’re ready to drop she squeezes you so tight.
And the warmth of her body brings you back around;
The numbness starts to fade.
Her tender touch drives the emptiness away.
Her smile reminds me today –
WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT,
WHAT LIFE’S ALL ABOUT.

You know you slave most of your life;
It seems like you’re always working for somebody else.
By the time everybody else gets their piece of you
There’s nothing left for yourself.
You’re working for crumbs while a few of those on high
Are the ones who call the shots and get most of the pie.
But every time you feel like throwing in the towel
She looks into my eyes.
Her kisses cut right through the lies;
Her heart melts right through the ice;
And once again she helps me realize
WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT – WHAT LIFE’S REALLY ALL ABOUT.

Seems like it’s just ‘dog-eat-dog’;
Especially if you’re like us and have to work two jobs for a living today.
We’re so busy just trying to survive, we have no time to get together and play.
You stare at the bills that came with the other junk mail today;
You’re so far down in the hole, you wander if they’ll ever get paid.
But every time I teeter on the edge, on the brink of insanity,
My sweetie pie reaches out to me;
Looks me in the eye, and sets my soul free;
As once again she helps me to see –
WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT – WHAT LIFE’S ALL ABOUT (3X)
